Welcome to my daily learning journal. My daily goal is to watch one Ted Talk and one cataract surgery. I also plan to read one journal article and read/listen to a book chapter, short story or significant work.
Here’s today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Elif Shafak: If trees could speak. “How do we tell stories of humanity and nature at a time when our planet is burning? Novelist Elif Shafak invites us to listen to the trees, whose experience of time, stillness and impermanence is utterly different from our own. “Hidden inside [their] story is the past and the future of humanity,” she says.” (ted.com)
Four minute Ted Talks are filled with insights.

2. Day #2. #AAO2020 is in full swing! The second day was filled with educational sessions! With thanks to Academy leaders, speakers, volunteers, and team members for orchestrating a wonderful virtual experience. Special shout-out to the practice management leaders, experts, and volunteers for creating superb content.

Between #AAO2020 & the AMA Interim meeting, I’m (again) Zoomed out! (10 am – 11 pm!)

3. With thanks to Michael Levitt, Kevin Flaherty MD and Lisa Nijm MD JD for helping to organize our AMA Symposium at AAO 2020. The Artificial Eye: 2020 and the Dawn of Innovation (SYM35V) included cutting edge speakers on magnetic nanoparticle delivery, bioelectronic artificial sight, digital healthcare & more! The symposium is available on demand on the Academy platform!
