Protecting Sight #264: How video game skills can get you ahead in life. Scleral Fixation of a Toric IOL. Hard Stop & Chop and Hering’s Law. Branding Yourself & Your Business.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. My daily goal is to watch one Ted Talk and one cataract surgery. I also plan to read one journal article and read/listen to a book chapter, podcast, or significant work.

Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – William Collis: How video game skills can get you ahead in life. “What does it take to be a pro gamer? Esports expert William Collis charts the rise of the multibillion-dollar competitive gaming industry and breaks down three skills needed to master video games like Fortnite, League of Legends and Rocket League. And watch out, Collis says: these skills can set you up for crushing it at work, too.” (ted.com)

Very cool Ted Talk. E-Sports are a growing industry and this Ted Talk is a perfect primer.

2A. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1032: Portugal resident’s first phaco chop.

2B. Dr. Neto Rosatelli – Phaco Clip #126 – Hard Stop & Chop. This is one of the best demonstrations of stop & chop technique.

3. Ike Ahmed MD – Scleral Fixation of a Toric Intraocular Lens for Astigmatism. Honored to watch this technique, Ike.

4. Andrew Lee MD – Hering’s law, Sherrington’s law, Spread of Comitance. Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are around 5-7 minutes. High-yield insights and pearls.
