1. Ted Talk = Tim Nevius: The exploitation of US college athletes. “Colleges and universities in the US make billions of dollars each year from sports, compromising the health and education of athletes — who are disproportionately Black — in the name of money, power and pride. Sports lawyer and former NCAA investigator Tim Nevius exposes how the system exploits young talent and identifies fundamental reforms needed to protect players.” (ted.com)
This is an excellent Ted Talk. Listed under trending talks — often a favorite source — and timely with the pending US Supreme Court case.
2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1065: Cortical Cleaving hydro-dissection. Nice technique.
3. Andrew Lee MD – Posterior ischemic optic neuropathy (PION). (Also a review of AION!)
Dr. Lee’s 450+ neuro-ophthalmology reviews are around 5 minutes each. Perfect for the busy clinician & trainee. I plan to watch one a day, from oldest to newest.
4. William Zinsser, On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction. Chapter 15, “Science and Technology.”
Zinsser writes, “Writing is thinking on paper. Anyone who thinks clearly can write clearly, about anything at all.”
