#ProtectingSight #411: Why we choke under pressure. ACIOL & transplant complications. The Tao of Warren Buffett.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Sian Leah Beilock: Why we choke under pressure — and how to avoid it. “When the pressure is on, why do we sometimes fail to live up to our potential? Cognitive scientist and Barnard College president Sian Leah Beilock reveals what happens in your brain and body when you choke in stressful situations, sharing psychological tools that can help you perform at your best when it matters most.” (ted.com description)

This talk is filled with life lessons. Brought back many memories of events which I wish had ended differently (& nonetheless have learned a great deal). I shared this Ted Talk with my nieces and nephews as a must-see. This is the perfect talk to share with students, friends, family, and lifelong learners.

2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1179: how to properly insert an AC IOL. Great pearls.

3. Andrew Lee MD – Neuro-op and transplants.

Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. Mary Buffett & David Clark – The Tao of Warren Buffett: Warren Buffett’s Words of Wisdom: Quotations and Interpretations to Help Guide You to Billionaire Wealth and Enlightened Business Management. Chapter 1, “Getting and Staying Rich.”

Picked this book up for $2 at the local library book sale. A great investment as Warren Buffett shares timeless wisdom.
