I was honored to receive the Significant Sig Award recently. I’m deeply grateful to the Sigma Chi Fraternity for this recognition, and to all who have supported me throughout this journey.
As the Sigma Chi website notes:
“As one of the Fraternity’s highest honors, the Significant Sig Award recognizes those alumni members whose exemplary achievements in their fields of endeavor have brought great honor and prestige to the name of Sigma Chi.”
During the celebration, I was surrounded by brothers who share a lifelong commitment to friendship, justice, and learning. These values have remained a constant guide — from college through my career in ophthalmology.
Sigma Chi’s principles continue to shape my mission: to protect sight, empower lives, and advance the future of medicine. With this honor comes a deep sense of responsibility — to serve, to lead, and to ensure I remain ever a credit to the ideals that first inspired me.
