#ProtectingSight #462: The ideal team player. Improving patient communication & the carotid artery pathway. The Real World of Ophthalmology.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Patrick Lencioni: Are you an ideal team player?.

Very good talk. Reminds me of concepts from favorite leadership books, including Jim Collins’ Good to Great and Kenneth Jennings’ The Serving Leader. Also Keith Ferrazzi’s Never Eat Alone.

2. Cataract Surgery – Dr. Uday Devgan – 1230: surgeon & patient communication. Added to the book list!

3. Andrew Lee MD – Carotid artery in Neuro Ophthalmology.

Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. Real World of Ophthalmology – Congratulations to Lisa Nijm, MD, JD and colleagues on a phenomenal all-day webinar series today! I only hope that I’ll be able to access talks again in the weeks ahead.

I enjoyed presenting with an all-star panel on “Things I Wish I Knew About Building A Practice.” Our pre-session discussion was a jam session of collegial support! With thanks to Drs. Dagny Zhu, Eric Rosenberg, Arvind Saini, Purnima Patel, & Shanika Esparaz for a most enjoyable learning experience.
