I am delighted to be re-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) through December 31, 2033.
I was initially board certified in 2003 and have continued to participate in Maintenance of Certification (MOC) since initial certification.
The ABO is ophthalmology’s primary board certification organization and a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
According to the ABMS, “A certifying board requires doctors to keep up on requirements including education, training, and passing an exam, in their area of medical expertise throughout their careers.” (Link)
Board certification is part of lifelong learning and the mission to protect sight.
