Welcome to my daily learning journal. My daily goal is to watch one Ted Talk and one cataract surgery. I also plan to read one journal article and read/listen to a book chapter, podcast, or significant work.
Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Tracy Young: Dare to lead as your authentic self. “As the founder of a startup, Tracy Young often worried that employees and investors valued male CEOs more — and that being a woman compromised her position as a leader. In this brave, personal talk, she gives an honest look at the constraints women face when trying to adapt to a male-dominated business culture — and shares how she developed the courage and vulnerability to lead as her complete, raw self. (This talk contains a graphic story. Discretion is advised.)” (ted.com)
An authentic Ted Talk filled with insights.

2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD Routine Cataract Case for Myopic Patient. Dr. Devgan writes, “Complete Cataract Case: the entire surgery is shown from start to finish, but don’t fret, it is still just a few minutes. There is a lot to be learned from watching a complete cataract case!” Great pearls.

3. Journal article – Rajaii F, Aronow ME, Campbell AA, Boahene KDO, Gallia GL, Rodriguez FJ. A Case of Metastatic Giant Cell Tumor of Soft Tissue of the Orbit Associated With PALB2 Variant. JAMA Ophthalmol. 2020;138(12):1322–1324. doi:10.1001/jamaophthalmol.2020.4308

4. All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten: Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things by Robert Fulghum (page 89-104).
