Welcome to my daily learning journal. My daily goal is to watch one Ted Talk and one cataract surgery. I also plan to read one journal article and read/listen to a book chapter, podcast, or significant work.
Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Julia Watson: How to build a resilient future using ancient wisdom. “In her global exploration of Indigenous design systems, architect Julia Watson researches enduring innovations that could help us counter the challenges of climate change. From floating villages to living root bridges that strengthen over time, Watson introduces us to some of these resilient solutions — and shows how they can teach us to design with nature, instead of against it.” (ted.com)
Architects often give the most fascinating Ted Talks. Loved this talk.

2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1025: Soemmering’s Ring Extraction. Well done.
3A. Andrew Lee MD – PET Scan in neuro-ophthalmology. Great short reviews of neuro-ophthalmology concepts.

3B. Viruni N, Shifera AS, Arevalo JF. Unilateral Frosted Branch Angiitis in a Patient With Immunosuppression. JAMA Ophthalmol. Published online February 18, 2021. doi:10.1001/jamaophthalmol.2020.4684
4. The Great Mental Models Volume 1: General Thinking Concepts by Shane Parrish and Rhiannon Beaubien. 2019. “Probabilistic Thinking.” Each chapter is filled with thoughtful concepts and superb references.
