#ProtectingSight #404: The surprising secret to speaking with confidence. Anterior capsular tear & cotton wool patches. Intelligent investing & intrinsic value.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Caroline Goyder – The surprising secret to speaking with confidence | TEDxBrixton “This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this fun and personal talk, Caroline shares a story of moving from stage-paralysis to expressive self. Accompanied by an unusual prop, she encourages us to use our voice as an instrument and really find the confidence within.” (YouTube description)

Starting to watch Tedx talks based on YouTube newsfeed suggestions. The AI algorithms work well. This is a very good talk. Enjoyed the historical reference to Demosthenes.

2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1172: anterior capsular tear in phaco. Excellent pearls.

3. Andrew Lee MD – Cotton Wool Patches in Neuro-op.

Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. Gautam Baid – The Joys of Compounding: The Passionate Pursuit of Lifelong Learning, Revised and Updated (Heilbrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing Series). Chapter 18 on intelligent investing and intrinsic value.

I continue to enjoy books on value investing, lifelong learning, mental models, and more. Excellent chapters with amazing quotations.
