#ProtectingSight #447: Restoring earth’s biodiversity via drone technology. PSC cataracts, confrontation visual fields, & the warrior poet.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Susan Graham: A new way to restore Earth’s biodiversity — from the air. “Land restoration is about more than planting trees, says environmentalist Susan Graham. Check out how her team combines drone technology with ecology-trained AI to restore degraded land and revive complex, biodiverse ecosystems — whether it’s on a small island or across an entire continent.” (ted.com description)

The shortest and one of the most insightful Ted Talks I’ve seen. 2 minutes and the talk brings hope to land restoration worldwide. I’ve been particularly interested with the potential to restore lands devastated by fires on the West Coast. Hope drones are utilized to bring biodiverse areas to life.

2. Cataract Surgery – Dr. Uday Devgan – 1215: soft PSC cataract in a 30 year old. Great pearls.

3. Andrew Lee MD – Confrontation visual fields.

Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. Episode 21: The Warrior Poet with Ed Latimore — Shane Parrish writes, “On this episode of The Knowledge Project, professional boxer, philosopher and author, Ed Latimore and I discuss the physics of boxing, philosophy, and the secret to a happy life.”

Excellent episode. Filled with insights.
