#ProtectingSight #453: The big myth of government deficits. Traumatic cataracts, hallucinogen persistent perception disorder (HPPD), & changes to ophthalmic clinical care due to the pandemic.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Stephanie Kelton: The big myth of government deficits.

I much preferred macroeconomics to microeconomics as a student. Excellent talk on government deficits and their role as a “financial contribution to the things that matter.”

2. Cataract Surgery – Dr. Uday Devgan – 1221: traumatic cataract lens penetration. Excellent case and result.

3. Andrew Lee MD – Hallucinogen persistent perception disorder.

Dr. Lee’s neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. Sundararajan M, Schallhorn JM, Doan T, Seitzman GD. Changes to ophthalmic clinical care during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Curr Opin Ophthalmol. 2021 Aug 26. doi: 10.1097/ICU.0000000000000797. Epub ahead of print. PMID: 34456291.

Superb paper which I will feature in a talk at the Ophthalmology Business Council meeting.
