#ProtectingSight #582: Less stuff, more happiness. White cataracts & SLK. Buffetted.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Graham Hill: Less stuff, more happiness

Superb talk and filled with life lessons.

2. Cataract surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1351: techniques for white cataracts.

A top 10 CataractCoach video.

3. Andrew Lee MD – SLK.

NODAL is a daily masterclass on ophthalmic & medical topics.

4. Alice Schroeder, The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life (2008). Chapter 58.

I’ve made it to page 764 of 838 (not including the notes which makes it 935 pages). I started on 9/22/2021 (#ProtectingSight #466) and have read a few other books in-between. Even my wife wonders when I’ll finish the book.

I used to be incredibly intimidated by long books. They’d often just gather dust with their tight spine intact. But a chapter a day commitment has served me well.

Filled with life lessons on investing, honesty, and integrity. A must-read for Warren Buffett style investors. The best $2 I’ve ever spent (picked up at the Cherry Hill Library book sale).

Please send me feedback! Would love to see if these posts help you on the learning journey.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Among my prized possessions is this original press photo from
Yale Commencement 1964.

The citation was read, “As your eloquence has kindled the nation’s sense of outrage, so your steadfast refusal to countenance violence in resistance to injustice has heightened our sense of national shame. When outrage and shame together shall one day have vindicated the promise of legal, social, and economic opportunity for all citizens, the gratitude of peoples everywhere and of generations of Americans yet unborn will echo our admiration as we proudly confer upon you the degree of Doctor of Laws.”
