#ProtectingSight #334: Open-sourced blueprints for civilization. Capsular rupture, Occam’s razor, & Hiccum’s dictum. Autoimmune dysregulation & hypercoagulation in COVID-19 eye disease.

Welcome to my daily learning journal. Here is today’s list:

1. Ted Talk – Marcin Jakubowski: Open-sourced blueprints for civilization. “Using wikis and digital fabrication tools, TED Fellow Marcin Jakubowski is open-sourcing the blueprints for 50 farm machines, allowing anyone to build their own tractor or harvester from scratch. And that’s only the first step in a project to write an instruction set for an entire self-sustaining village (starting cost: $10,000).” (ted.com)

This is an exceptional Ted Talk. Short Ted Talks are often the most insightful. (4 minutes)

2. Cataract Surgery – Uday Devgan MD – 1102: capsule rupture with the IA probe. Well managed.

3. Andrew Lee MD – Occam’s razor vs Hiccum’s dictum. I also share the concept of Occam’s razor in #ProtectingSight #261.

Dr. Lee’s 450+ neuro-ophthalmology reviews are perfect for lifelong learning.

4. EyeNet (April 2021)

COVID-19, the Eye, and the Brain – Written By: Lori Baker-Schena, MBA, EdD, interviewing Marc J. Dinkin, MD, Vivek R. Patel, MD, and Prem S. Subramanian, MD, PhD.
